$14.25 Million Dividend Announced | Apply for AgGeorgia Farmers Market Grant
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce that a dividend of $14,250,000 has been declared by its board of directors, marking 37 consecutive years that profits have been returned to member-borrowers. AgGeorgia’s Dividend Program has now paid out $486 million in cash over that span.
The cooperative again broke records in 2024 in multiple financial performance categories. “Despite unprecedented challenges, AgGeorgia set records for highest ever total assets, loans, core earnings, stockholder equity, and cash dividends paid,” said AgGeorgia CEO Rob Crain. “As a result, we are in the position to be able to put our profits back in our members’ pockets.”
The refund, from 2024 earnings, lowers the average member’s stated rate by nearly 1%. $6 million of the dividend was paid in October as an unprecedented early distribution, in response to the exceptional hardships inflicted by Hurricane Helene. Members who have signed up for direct deposit can expect their portion of the remaining $8.25 million to be deposited by the first week of April. Those not enrolled for direct deposit can expect a check to be mailed that same week. All of the distribution is in cash, as opposed to 2021 and years prior, when refunds were divided between cash and surplus to be paid later.
