AgGeorgia Farm Credit’s Ocilla branch is temporarily closed. The branch will re-open Friday, January 15th at 8:30 with normal business hours. In the interim, our nearby Cordele, Nashville, and Tifton branches all remain open for any necessary on-site services required by our Ocilla branch members. These branches do require advance appointments, however, so please be sure to contact the respective branch prior to visiting. Members can still call the Ocilla branch phone number at 229-468-5900, as those calls are automatically being routed to other offices for assistance.

AgGeorgia Farm Credit Announces Dereck Sumner as Relationship Manager in Tifton
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the hiring of Dereck Sumner as a Relationship Manager in the Tifton Office. Mr. Sumner is a native of Ben Hill County, Georgia and received a bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance from Georgia Southern University. Dereck is also a graduate of the Georgia Bankers Association School of Banking at the University of Georgia and has over 17 years of financial lending experience. He resides in Tifton with his wife, Annie, and daughters Chandler and Charlotte, and is a member of First Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mr. Sumner looks forward to using his banking and lending experience to service the needs of residents of Tift and surrounding counties.
Error Causing Members to Receive Letter from Another Farm Credit Association
Due to a mistake by an outside mail vendor, members yesterday began receiving a letter in an AgGeorgia envelope from another Farm Credit association, MidAtlantic Farm Credit. This was simply a mail error by the vendor and no customer information was comprised. We apologize for any confusion. A reprint of the letter you should have received is on the way. COVID-19 Update: Access To Branches Limited To Appointment Only Effective 12/7

As part of our consistent prioritization of the health of our members, staff, and communities we serve, we have closely monitored developments related to COVID-19 throughout our 79 county service area. Due to recent case increases in parts of our territory, we are reverting to our operating format successfully implemented earlier this year. Effective Monday, December 7th and until further notice, AgGeorgia Farm Credit will temporarily limit public access to all branches, but will be open by appointment for requests requiring in-person service.
I want to assure you that our staff is available and eager to assist with any needs you may have. Our office hours remain unchanged, and corporate and branch offices are fully functional. In addition, our Relationship Managers stand willing and able to visit you on your farm for any needs, while maintaining appropriate social distancing.
As we operate under our Business Continuity Plan, we encourage you to contact us by phone, email, or utilize any of our available online services. AgGeorgia offers a variety of remote options that allow you to access your account and all the services we offer, without the need to visit a branch.

AgGeorgia Announces Results of Director and Nominating Committee Elections
AgGeorgia Farm Credit recently finalized its annual election process with the assistance of independent election contractor Survey & Ballot Systems. The period for receiving ballots closed November 24th.
Four Director positions with terms expiring December 31, 2020 were voted upon. AgGeorgia Farm Credit’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the re-election of Franklin B. Wright of Gilmer County for Position #2, J. Dan Raines of Turner County for Position #5, Guy A. Daughtrey of Cook County for Position #9, and the election of George Teel Warbington of Dooly County for Position #13. AgGeorgia offers its thanks to the opponents of these candidates, Carl Kenny McClure, Thomas I. Braziel, Fred E. Purvis, and Billy J. Clary for their willingness to give of their time to assure the cooperative has excellent leadership on the Board. AgGeorgia Farm Credit Announces Hiring of Relationship Manager in LaFayette
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the hiring of Christy Brannon as a Relationship Manager in our LaFayette office. A native of Chattooga County, Mrs. Brannon graduated from The University of Georgia where she received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Degree in Agribusiness. Christy grew up working on a commercial cow/calf operation that has grown into a backgrounding calf operation (Bryan Farms) and a cattle marketing group (Bill Bryan Cattle LLC). Growing up, she showed commercial beef cattle and was active in 4H and FFA. She is a member of Georgia Cattlemens Association, Georgia Farm Bureau, where she serves on the State Young Farmer and Rancher Committee, and Georgia Young Farmers in Chattooga County. Christy previously worked as an animal health sales representative in South Georgia and North Florida, and also worked with the USDA FSA as a program technician.
Mrs. Brannon lives in Rock Spring with her husband, Dan, and their son, Owen. She looks forward to using her experience and agricultural knowledge and background to service the needs of residents of Catoosa, Dade and Walker Counties.

AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the promotion of Rachel Velie to Controller in our Perry Corporate Office. A native of Bibb County, Rachel began her career with AgGeorgia in August of 2018 as Internal Control Accountant. A graduate of Mercer University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with an Accounting focus, she also earned a Master of Accountancy degree from Georgia College & State University. In addition, Miss Velie has had previous business experience through roles including internal auditing, accounting and as a financial analyst.

AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the hiring of Kim Barnhart as Loan Assistant in the Perry Office. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kim has lived in Warner Robins, Georgia for over 26 years with her retired military husband, Michael. Mrs. Barnhart has a horticulture background having worked in a local nursery, and extensive banking, lending and managerial experience from other financial institutions. All of her combined knowledge will be beneficial in her new role serving AgGeorgia members.
