Ballots Mailed for AgGeorgia Farm Credit Director Elections
As previously communicated via letter and the Annual Meeting Information Statement, our board made the decision to transition our Director and Nominating Committee elections to mail-in ballots. These ballots were mailed out November 3rd, so watch your mailbox for them to arrive. Return your marked ballot by November 24th and receive a gift as our thanks.
We know that many of you look forward to the 4 sectional meetings we have provided over the past several years. However, we appreciate your understanding of these modifications to ensure the health and safety of our members, staff and communities we serve.

AgGeorgia Farm Credit Announces Promotion in Perry Corporate Office
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the promotion of Brandie Thompson to Chief Financial Officer. Mrs. Thompson began her career with AgGeorgia in March of 2005 in the Tifton, Georgia office. Prior to this promotion, Brandie has served AgGeorgia in various positions, most recently as the Chief Risk Officer. She received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Information and Technology and Accounting at Macon State College, and a Master of Business Administration from Georgia College and State University. She obtained certification as a Certified Public Accountant in 2012. She and husband Dan have a daughter, Alexandra, and son Miles.
AgGeorgia Farm Credit Announces Promotion of Jay Murkerson to Chief Risk Officer
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the promotion of Jay Murkerson to the position Chief Risk Officer. A native of Decatur County, Jay graduated from University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance. He has been employed with AgGeorgia since January of 2017 and was previously in the position of Controller. Mr. Murkerson also holds a CPA licensure.
Mr. Murkerson resides in Pulaski County with his wife, Lesley, and three children Bryce, Jenni and Ansley.
AgGeorgia Farm Credit Announces Hire of Dey Palmer in Perry Branch
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the hiring of Dey Palmer as Relationship Manager in the Perry Branch. A native of Mitchell County, Georgia, Mr. Palmer graduated from Mercer University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He is also a graduate of the Georgia Banking School and LSU Banking School. With an established background working at other financial institutions, Dey brings with him over 20 years’ banking experience that will be beneficial in serving AgGeorgia’s member/borrowers.
Mr. Palmer resides in Houston County with his wife, Ellen, and son Wallace. He is looking forward to using his financing experience to meet the agricultural needs of the residents in Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Macon, Peach, Pulaski and Taylor counties.
AgGeorgia Farm Credit Announces New Hire in Cordele
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the hiring of Brandon Vann as Relationship Manager in the Cordele Office. A native of Sumter County, Georgia, Mr. Vann graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Prior to joining AgGeorgia, Brandon was employed with another Farm Credit association and also was a loan officer with commercial bank. Brandon brings several years’ financial and lending experience to AgGeorgia that will be beneficial in serving the Cordele Office member/borrowers.
Mr. Vann currently resides in Sumter County with his wife, Lauren, and two sons, Bennett and Andrew. He is looking forward to using his financing experience to meet the agricultural needs of the residents in Crisp, Dooly and Wilcox counties.
Hal Carter Named Chief Appraiser of AgGeorgia Farm Credit
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the promotion of Hal Carter of our Cordele Office to the position of Chief Appraiser.
Before joining AgGeorgia, Mr. Carter was in the family business of Carter Appraisal Service, bringing 10 years of appraisal experience when he began with AgGeorgia in March of 2011. He has been a State Certified General Appraiser for 17 years and earned the designation of Accredited Rural Appraiser from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers in 2016. He has served as Lead Appraiser with AgGeorgia since 2011.
A native of Crisp County, Hal graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in General Business. He is very active in the Cordele community where he currently resides with his wife, Andee, and four daughters.
AgGeorgia Farm Credit Announces Relationship Manager in Nashville
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the hiring of Zach Forshee as Relationship Manager in the Nashville Office. A native of Tift County, Mr. Forshee is a graduate of Valdosta State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration. He has previous business experience and also was a 2019 AgGeorgia intern, working in several of the southern offices and becoming familiar with the member borrowers, loan portfolios and policies of the Association.
Mr. Forshee is looking forward to using his experience to meet the agricultural financing needs of the residents serviced by the Nashville Branch in Berrien, Cook and Lanier Counties.
AgGeorgia Farm Credit Announces Promotion in Nashville
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the promotion of Lindsey McLendon to Loan Processor in our Nashville Office.
A native of Berrien County, Lindsey began her career with AgGeorgia as a Loan Assistant in June of 2018. She has several years’ business experience and will continue to serve the AgGeorgia member borrowers well in her new position. Lindsey currently resides in Berrien County with her husband, Michael and two sons, Macon and Luke.
Nick Hartley Named Chief Lending Officer of AgGeorgia Farm Credit
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the promotion of Nick Hartley to Chief Lending Officer in our Perry Corporate Office.
Before joining AgGeorgia, Mr. Hartley worked in the public relations field and also at a local lending institution where he obtained banking experience. He came to AgGeorgia in October of 2008 as a Loan Officer in our Washington Office and relocated to Perry to become Branch Manager of the Perry and Montezuma Offices in 2012. Nick then assumed the position of Regional Lending Manager in 2013, overseeing six offices in the middle Georgia area of AgGeorgia’s territory. His new position of CLO was effective September 3, 2020.
Nick received his diploma from Jefferson County High School before graduating in 2004 from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Journalism degree, majoring in Public Relations. He then furthered his education and received a Master of Business Administration degree in 2013 from Mercer University and is currently enrolled in the LSU School of Banking with an expected graduation next spring. Mr. Hartley currently resides in Houston County with his wife Holly and two daughters, Adalyn and Brielle.
Mr. Hartley looks forward to serving the member borrowers throughout the entire territory of AgGeorgia Farm Credit in his new role of CLO.

A native of Berrien County, Whitney began her career with AgGeorgia as a Loan Assistant in December of 2015. She has several years’ business experience and will continue to serve the borrowers of AgGeorgia well in her new position. Whitney currently resides in Tift County with her husband Christopher and two sons, Dalton and Jack.
